Day 2

Giza & Memphis

Your guide will be waiting for you after breakfast to start your day exploring most famous sights around the capital.

Your day starts in Giza where you will visit the Sphinx statue, the pyramids of Chefren and Menkaure and the inner chambers of Cheops – one of Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.

After lunch, you will head to Memphis, the first capital of ancient Egypt and its famous necropolis of Sakkara where most ancient pharaohs were buried together with their earthly treasures. The complex includes the world-famous step pyramid of Djoser.

Nile Cruise – Luxor East Bank

Day 4

Nile Cruise – Luxor West Bank

Early morning you will head to the heart of the Theban Necropolis on Luxor's West Bank where tombs, mortuary temples and colossal statues were built for pharaohs of the New Kingdom. The Valley of the Kings still hides many secrets and includes the tomb of king Tutankhamen, preserved almost intact for more than 3,000 years.

No less splendid is the mortuary built beneath the cliffs of Deir el Bahri for Queen Hatshepsut, the most powerful woman to ever rule Egypt.

Your last stop for the day will be the Colossi of Memnon. Legend has it that the two massive stone statues still protect the Theban Necropolis.

The rest of the day, you will be relaxing and admiring the beautiful landscape along the River Nile as your cruise boat sails upstream to your next destination.

Nile Cruise - Edfu & Kom Ombo Temples

The cruise boat will dock at the city of Edfu where a carriage will be waiting to take you to the Edfu Temple. Dedicated to the falcon god Horus, it is one of the best preserved temples in Egypt.

Back aboard your floating home, you will sail south to reach the town of Kom Ombo by late afternoon.

You will end your day with a visit to its unconventional double temple built to worship Sobek, the crocodile god of fertility and world's creator, and the falcon god of light, Haroeris.

Day 6

Nile Cruise – Aswan

The city of Aswan will welcome you with its mysterious atmosphere that inspired Agatha Christie's novel, and an invitation to explore the city's rich history.

Your day starts with a love story of goddess Isis who spent her days on the Island of Philae protecting the heart of her beloved Osiris.

The story of the Temple of Isis will take you back to the modern-day Aswan and the controversies surrounding the Hight Dam. Built in the 70s, this impressive construction forever changed the course of life along the Nile.

After lunch, a traditional Egyptian boat, know locally as felucca, will take you on a trip around the Elephantine Island and its Nubian villages – the remainder of one of the earliest civilizations of ancient Africa.

The day will end with a cup of Egyptian tea in hand, watching the sunset from the terrace of the Old Cataract Hotel where Agatha Christie wrote her famous novel “Murder on the Nile”.

Day 7

Your Day in Aswan

You can spend the morning at your leisure visiting the place of worship of Ramasses the Great at Abo Simbel. The two monumental temples are not only awe-inspiring. They were removed and reassembled during the construction of the High Dam – a feat that attests to the country's dedication to preserve its cultural heritage.

You can opt for a motor-boat trip to a Nubian village in Gharib Soheil on the West Bank of Aswan. This colorful hamlet will welcome you with its laid-back atmosphere, the scent of spices in the air and the larger-than-life smiles on the faces of Nubian children you will meet on your walk through the village. For a full cultural experience, you will also visit a Nubian family and a local school.

According to your flight schedule, you will be transferred to Aswan Airport for your flight to Cairo.

Cairo Museum, Saladin Citadel & Old Cairo

After breakfast, you will visit the Egyptian Museum. Its vast rooms hold the world's largest collection of pharaonic artifacts, including the treasures of the child king Tutankhamen and the royal mummy room.

Your next stop will be the Saladin Citadel, a magnificent medieval fortification perched on a hill near the city centre. The complex includes the Alabaster Mosque commissioned by Muhammad Ali Pasha.

Cairo's Coptic quarter will impress you with its Hanging Church, Ben Ezra Synagogue, and the churches of St. Barbara and Abu Serga. You can travel back in time visiting the mosques and palaces of the Islamic Cairo with its colourful bazaar - Khan El Khalili.
